Gran Turismo 7 features a huge collection of licensed cars from many of the most recognisable manufacturers in the automotive world. The roster spans classic road cars, modern supercars, race machines and historic vehicles that highlight the evolution of motorsport. Every vehicle is modeled with obsessive detail, from the stitching on the dashboard to the unique engine note of a 1960s F1 car. The variety allows players to experiment with very different types of vehicles across the campaign and online races. The inclusion of the Legend Cars dealership, which rotates rare, multi-million credit icons, adds a prestige layer to collecting that other games lack.

Customization in Gran Turismo 7 is extensive and focuses heavily on performance tuning. Players can upgrade engines, suspension, tyres and aerodynamic components to completely change how a vehicle behaves on the track. The tuning system encourages experimentation because even small adjustments can significantly affect handling and lap times. Visual customization is also strong thanks to the detailed livery editor which allows players to create complex paint schemes and share them online. The system offers a huge amount of depth, although some upgrades require large amounts of in game credits to unlock.

The handling model is widely considered the strongest part of Gran Turismo 7. Cars feel grounded and realistic, with weight transfer, tyre grip and braking behaviour all playing an important role during races. Different vehicles require different driving approaches, meaning players must adapt their racing lines and braking points depending on the car being used. The physics model rewards careful driving and smooth inputs rather than aggressive arcade style racing. Gran Turismo 7 delivers some of the most visually impressive cars and racing environments available on console. Vehicle models are recreated with extremely high detail including accurate interiors, reflections and lighting effects. On PS5, the Ray Tracing in replays and the Real-Time Weather system are unmatched. Seeing a storm roll in over the Nürburgring, with puddles forming dynamically in the track dips, is a visual masterclass. The presentation of replays and garage scenes also adds to the feeling that you are interacting with real vehicles. The visual quality consistently reinforces the games focus on realism and authenticity.

Track variety in Gran Turismo 7 includes a strong selection of real world circuits alongside fictional tracks designed specifically for the series. Players can race at famous locations such as Suzuka, Nürburgring and Spa Francorchamps, each recreated with impressive accuracy. Many tracks include multiple layouts which increases the number of racing configurations available. The variety allows both high speed circuits and technical tracks that reward precise driving. Although the selection is strong overall, some may be disappointed at the absence of a few classic tracks from older Gran Turismo titles.
